Just as Easter and spring bring new life and rebirth, so it is with the church website. There have been some changes. Some are subtle and some are not. There are additions, too. If you have not been here in while, please take time to visit around a bit. We hope you enjoy what you see.

History of First Christian Church
|
Take a look back to the beginning in 1835, before the first church building was erected and when the small congregation met in members' homes. It all began with the Campfields and the church's first minister, Dr. Daniel Hook.

Mrs. Emily Harvie Thomas Tubman
|
A young girl was born in Virginia, raised in the pioneer western frontier of Kentucky, and moved to Augusta, GA where she became a prominent figure of First Christian Church. Emily Harvie Thomas married Richard Tubman in Augusta, GA in June 1818, but Richard died less than 20 years into their marriage. See how Mrs. Emily Tubman helped to play a vital role by helping her church to grow. Learn more about the woman called "Benefactress, Christian, Humanitarian."

Prayer is so important in our daily lives. Because of its power, it is an essential tool for Christians. The Lord's Prayer, the instructional prayer Jesus gave to his disciples, is found here. Some personal prayers from members of the congregation are also included.
