First Christian Church is located at 629 Greene Street (corner of 7th and Greene Streets) in downtown Augusta, GA. Greene Street and Broad Street (Augusta's main street) run parallel to the Savannah River, and we are 2 blocks south of Broad Street. We are also located a block from the county courthouse (the municipal building) on Greene Street and a block from President Wilson's boyhood home on 7th Street.
We can be reached from the northwest by using Washington Road which becomes Calhoun Expressway as it approaches the city and later merges into Greene Street a few blocks before reaching the church. From the south and west, there are various main roads leading to downtown Augusta including Gordon Hwy. (Hwy. 78), Deans Bridge Rd. (Hwy. 1), Peach Orchard Rd. (Hwy. 25), and Mike Padgett Hwy. (Hwy. 56). Two of the roads connecting us to North Augusta, South Carolina, are Hwy. 1 and 13th Street. Thirteenth Street in Augusta, GA is called Georgia Avenue in North Augusta, SC. |
