First Christian Church, Augusta, GA ~   First Christian Through the Years   ~     This is the first church building that was located at 711 Reynolds Street and was built in 1842 with the help of Mrs. Emily Tubman. The building was turned into a school for girls when the members moved into the new church building at Greene and 7th Streets but was later lost to the great fire of 1916.        This old photo was taken after a snowfall. This is the second church building that was built in the mid 1870s. This picture is from a postcard. It is another view of the church located at the corner of 7th and Greene Streets. Notice that the small steeple is missing in this photo.
